Converting Vista Laptop to XP

Well, a friend bought a Vista Laptop recently and quickly realized their engineering stuff won't work on Vista. Productivity ground to a halt. So he contacted the Toshiba Helpdesk, considered by many to be the worst helpdesk in the world. They told him it can't be done. So we converted it after about 2hrs. I'll work up some links and documentation on how this was done shortly.

I'm running some VB Scripts and testing methods
I've created different automated installs for Office 2007 following my Office 2003 installs. The performance of 2007 is one issue and install methods are another.
Packages successfully tested for:

IE7, Some settings.
